A preacher, writer, singer and indie artist, this is T-Resa, Texas's latest gospel artist.
T-Resa's diverse musical references are expressed in her brand of uniqueness, cross-over gospel. Armed with an infectious sound, talent, writing skills, she forms her own sound: a sort of smooth gospel.
Having release her first single in the winter of 2013, T-Resa haven't stopped to draw breath since, fast building a reputation as one of the most dynamic anointed live gospel singers in the country, rocking stages and blowing the roof off venues wherever she sings.
T-Resa's debut single, 'Second Chance' was well received and the second single, 'Coming Of The Lord' followed by 'Rescue Me' built on that foundation receiving airplay from 'Joyful Sound Radio, Fish Bowl Radio, Gospel Sound Radio, Joy Gospel Radio, Gospel Impact Radio, K-107-FM, Lounge Worship Radio, Gospel Synergy 1 Radio, Live365 Radio, WKYZ Radio, SOGN Radio.' Her excellent debut EP, "Story Teller' will be released on the 30th June 2017 and is a collection of anointed and varied songs with depth and strength from uplifting melody for the praises that is 'On Fire', giving God the glory through, 'Story Teller.'
Second Chance was nominated in two categories by the Indie Music Channel in 2015. 2017 Second Chance and Rescue Me have been nominated for Best Gospel Artist & Best Contemporary Christian Song. Christopher Ewing CEO- presented T-Resa with a very special award from the Indie Music Channel/Hang On To The Dream Award.
In addition to singing and ministering, T-Resa has earned a P.h.D., in Religious Education. She founded, Refreshing Waters Ministries and have written several books.
While penning the title track ( Second Chance) T-Resa was receiving 16 weeks of chemo therapy for stage 3 Breast Cancer. "I heard the Lord say, He's given me a second chance," T-Resa says.
Through SECOND CHANCE, I want listeners all around the world to know-God gave us a 'Second Chance," when He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross! John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." She enthusiastically proclaims!
For T-Resa; whose mother is a pastor, music has always been a part of her life. T-Resa declares that her mother started a female gospel group when T-Resa was just nine years of age. This later caused her to develop a love for singing church hymns.
T-Resa learned she could sing long ago when she was 10-year-old who won a Gong show type contest in Miami, FL. Later,at the age 15, she cut a demo record!
If you ask T-Resa, what's her passion, the answer will be, "My heart is with singing and preaching the gospel. T-Resa has performed in Savannah night clubs; such as, Raymond's during their talent show nights." T-Resa has performed in Miami night club; such as the Strawberry.
In Miami, in 1978; she joined an all male group ( Jimmy, Mark, Calvin & Lawrence) group called SKYY, after being discovered at Westview Jr., High school talent show. She later had an opportunity to sing background during a studio session with the rock group, K.C. and the Sunshine Band!
"I am influenced by other singer/songwriters who ae also singers and producers: James Moore, Shirley Caesar, Anita Baker, Patti La-belle, Mary Mary, Kirk Franklin, Quincy Jones, Micheal Jackson, Prince," she shares.
T-Resa has always had a passion and love for preaching the gospel and sharing the gospel through music! When she takes any platform God has her on, she shows a compassion that is absolutely contagious. You can't help but worship the living God.
